12 finalists emerge at Nigerian Idol gala night
The reality show reveals the twelve hopefuls who made the cut.
It was a night of glamour as Optima Media Group held a gala night to unveil the 12 finalists for the second season of Nigerian Idol. The gig went down over the past weekend. The 12 finalists as announced earlier are Ibinabo, Honey, Lynda, Najite, Nikki, Diwari, Chinedu, Stephen, AYO, Mercy, Sly 1 and Joe Blue. They will all now compete for the number spot.

The audience got to feel the potential of all 12 finalists as they were treated to soulful renditions of classic ballads on a revamped stage just for the finals. From the look on their faces, Judges Yinka Davies, Charly Boy and Jeffery Daniels were quite impressed but it was Waje, a guest judge that couldn’t help but smile all night.

‘The bar has been raised in this season’s competition judging from the set of young talented ladies and gentlemen who have been able to make it through the grueling auditions and knock out stages of the competition’, said Wael Ammar, Chief Commercial Officer at Etisalat, the show’s sponsor.

The debut edition of Nigerian Idol saw Yeka Onka emerge as winner walking away with N7.5M, a brand new car and a Sony entertainment TV centre.
